Grower

Durham Vineyard

The Story of Durham Vineyard really begin in the 1870’s when George Boekenoogen moved west and settled in the Salinas Valley. He purchased a swath of land that is now part of the Santa Lucia Highlands wine Appellation. He raised cattle and hay on the land so did the next two generations of Boekenoogen’s. John Boekenoogen planted the ranch to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in 1997. The results have been one of those wonders of nature as the vines produce truly exception wines. A few years later he added a state of the art winery in the middle of the vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands and started making Boekenoogen wines. In 2025, the Durham Family purchased the Boekenoogen Vineyard and winery.
