Boekenoogen Vineyards

The Story of Boekenoogen Vineyards really begin in the 1870’s when George Boekenoogen moved west and settled in the Salinas Valley. He purchased a swath of land that is now part of the Santa Lucia Highlands wine Appellation. He raised cattle and hay on the land so did the next two generations of Boekenoogen’s. In the 1990’s, we realized that this land is perfect for growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes and I planted about 100 acres 60% Pinot and 40% Chardonnay. The results have been one of those wonders of nature as the vines produce truly exception wines. A few years later we added a state of the art winery in the middle of our vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands and started making Boekenoogen wines.
