About Us

Hahn Family Wines is rooted in the Santa Lucia Highlands appellation (SLH) of Monterey County, California, where founders Nicolaus (Nicky) and Gabby Hahn have made fine wine since 1980. Early on, Nicky Hahn recognized the special wine grape growing conditions of the SLH, and led efforts to establish it as an American Viticulture Area (AVA), a status attained in 1991. Today, the Hahn’s are one of the largest family land holders, with three SLH estate vineyards. The Hahn’s also own and farm two estate vineyards totaling 460 acres, in the Arroyo Seco AVA, just minutes from our SLH winery. Hahn Family Wines produce handcrafted, quality wines under five brands: Hahn, Hahn SLH, Lucienne, Smith & Hook and Boneshaker.
